THE LIFE LESSONS

Are you catching (and retaining) all these life lessons!?

As you likely know, our struggles serve as lessons. Situations and people who provoke strong emotions in us can act as guides and healers, provided we recognize the potent teachings within these encounters.

Embracing the lessons can be challenging for those of us who have experienced childhood trauma that echoes into adulthood through similar experiences and relationships.

If you are like many of us, one day you feel the lesson like a warm bath and the next you feel naked and cold again, wondering what the heck is actually going on!

Considering my profession, I am welcomed into the intimate lives of numerous individuals and this access grants me the opportunity to observe a profound commonality among us.

Recently, I encountered the phrase “the most Universal is the most personal,” and this sentiment resonated strongly with my observations.

You are not alone.

We are not alone.

The wisdom we gain from upset transcends individual experiences and becomes universally applicable.

THE WISDOM IS THE WHY

This below is what I believe our Great Spirit is trying to teach all of us.  And, this is the year where this really sinks in.

(Repeat after me.)

I am enough.

It is safe and OK for me to be imperfect.

I have nothing to prove.

I can never be too much.

I am worthy of all that I desire.

I am powerful.

I have a right to have wants and needs.

I have a right to have a voice even if, and especially if, it differs from the voice of those around me.

I have a right to have my feelings.

I have a right to express my feelings.

I refuse to collude with any negative opinion another has of me, and will commit to always treating myself better.

I am one-of-a-kind and exactly how I was designed to be.

I am more extraordinary than I even know.

In the grand chessboard of life, who and what evokes your ‘ick!’ feelings play the role of strategic opponents. Their purpose is to fortify your resilience and illuminate the strength that resides within you.

You were designed to play this life game and all you have to do is align with the part of you (even if it is a little teeny, tiny whisper part) that knows this.

So… during those days when you’re entangled in the ‘WHYSSSSS!’ loop, sinking further into feelings of sadness, anger, and frustration, revisit the preceding list or listen to it the audio version in this short 1 min. 28 second file
